I assume you meant Ozark Hunter rather than Arkansas Hunter...
No the lock is not as strong as CS's Tri-Ad lock, or the sliding lock on the Pocket Bushman, or the Ultra Lock on the AK-47 but then it isn't the same kind of knife and would most likely not be used as those extreme heavy duty knives would be. I can understand Lynn's concern but at the same time the folks who would by the slipjoints are of a different mind set. A lot of us do own both kinds of knives but we also tend to use the right tool for the right job. I carry my Ozark Hunter in a Bullard belt sheath but at the same time there is probably a large pocket clip knife like the AK-47 clipped in my pocket.
Odd these Ozark Hunter was such a low production knife...they crop up for sale much more often than several of the others. It is one of my favorites of the bunch as well.
