I have found that making a draw cut on a piece of hardwood in between grits does wonders for getting rid of a wire burr.

To OP, I'm Asian, and using bluntcut's balance strop, I can get my 8Cr blades sharper and smoother without loosing the bite after DMT XF. I shave with my EDC

Some of my wife's dry hair can be whittled, but very difficult to do, perhaps my edge is not that good
