So I got my knife back from KAI. It was a total of 14 day turnaround including shipping which is pretty good considering they initially said six weeks. As far as the knife goes, its a whole new knife, they didnt just repalce the blade. The blade doesnt have a serial number on it but it does have all the other markings in it so it isnt sterile like they said. The customer service with KAI was exceptional. The only issue I have is I sent an 0560 for repair, and got back a 0561. Not too big of a deal, but I like the black G10 better than the brown. Im going to ask KAI if I can get a black scale sent to me. Other than that, it was a great customer service experience.
