Took a walk over on Jekyll Island today. It was overcast with some showers, but not bad. I carried all my junk in this Safari vest, rather than hassle with a fanny pack.
This trail is well-maintained by the 4-H Club. It is a southern maritime forest.
A foot bridge crosses this little swamp.
I guess I need an orange handled Mora. This one blends in here.
There are big roots along the trail and old sand dunes with palmettos way over my 6'1" head.
The trail winds back out to the road at this tree that reminds me of the one in the Lion King. Hakuna Matata!
Back over to the north end of the island, I came upon this pretty salt water creek.
It flows into the ocean here. That is Saint Simons Island in the background.
Even with a little rain, it was a good walk.
