I just got the pics of my dagger back from Caleb. He was kind enough to bring all of his equipment and set up in our hotel room at BLADE just to shoot my knives. That's service!

As most of you know I am a third generation commercial fisherman. We've been accused of having saltwater in our veins and being a full 1/8 French Basque means my family was killing cod fish from way back. All this to give some background for the halibut hook barbs on the quillions. If nothing else it was a comfort, as I spent a good two weeks on this guard, hot bending it back forth and fussing over the transitions, that at least there was ONE trade I was competent at. In the end it all came together. The pommel was designed from a stone, chinese top-knot cover I picked up in Hong Kong that Adam affectionately dubbed the 'Ming Dynasty Scrunchy'. The Damascus pattern is one I've been developing. It's a spin off of Adam's Orc Noveau and I call it Batsauce.

I'm including a few in-progress pics at the bottom. I'll post the rest of the test knives when I get the pictures. Click on Caleb's handy links to see the pics larger. Thanks for looking!

Thats a really wicked looking dagger. Especially the sinister looking quillion guard. Great work Haley, and creative I might add.

Haley,
Really beautiful work! I didn't get to see it at Blade, and it's a pleasure to finally get to see it.

Haley, All the little details are perfect complement to each other. I really enjoyed the your story explaining each detail as well.

Congratulations again on achieving the well deserved MS

See you both next year

Haley, this dagger is incredible. Love the overall design, all the little details and the the Damascus. You nailed this one and are so well deserving of your new MS stamp. Props to Caleb as well for such stunning photos and for the extra effort doing it all from his hotel room.

absolutely stunning ! i love the trident vibe. this is one of those knives that makes me momentarily want to throw away all my knife making stuff and give up... but i won't. :) congrats on the stamp.

Haley,
I am a big fan of yours and the creativity, craftsmanship and thoughtfulness that went into every aspect of this beautiful dagger are just some of the reasons why. Caleb, your photography showcases these knives with jaw dropping detail. Great work.

Very, very nice and elegant. And to go along with her whole fishing theme, the picture of the guard in the vise looks like something that came off of a crab.

Hi Haley! What a great thread and beautiful dagger. I love the nautical touches on it. Very striking to look at. I wish I could have seen it in person.

In case I didn't say it before, congrats on the MS stamp too. Very much deserved!

At the risk of sounding sexist....
That definitely does not look like a girly dagger.
Fantastic dagger Haley!
Beautiful and sinister at the same time.
In my opinion it belongs in a museum as the focal piece of a collection.
Your knives have always been impressive, but this is my favorite one yet.

Thanks for all the encouraging comments guys! It's nice to get feedback on something you put so much time into.

Mark, I guess it depends on your perception of girly. If you're thinking ribbons and bows perhaps not this knife, but if the term girly in your mind applies more to a Valkyrie with a penchant for Jimmy Choo shoes than I think this dagger could be right in there.
