Today is a meat eaters dream come true. Esp when you have a 15lb ossian ham waiting to be demolished at the mamas. I really wish I could share some of this with you guys. This ham is the sebenza of food. Tender, chunky, seasoned in brown sugar perfection, mm mm mmmm. I hope everyone's days is half as joyous as mine will be.

Make sure it's a real ham ! I'm the guy who does all the carving so when visiting I was asked to 'carve' the ham. It looked a bit different and then I found that it was a spiral cut ham ,the first I had ever seen !! What an insult.

I never heard of Ossian ham so I did a search. Sounds good. I used to like Honey Baked ham, but the local franchise has been hit or miss.

    Happy TG.

I love ham but I haven't found one yet that didn't make me drink a gal of water later.

Turkey and the traditional BBQ ribs for Turkey day for me!

I love a good honey baked ham, but we usually save that one for christmas along side a turkey.

As always, mom outdid herself. Hours of careful prep, all for 20 minutes of primal glory/gluten! She fed 10 but had enough for about 100. I got all the left-overs, what a pity :D

    food porn :p
She didnt have enough room for the desserts so she had to use a baby crib :D The ultimate glory (HAM) is north of this but I didnt get any pics :grumpy:
    My first plate :)
She also made these mashed yams with pecans, didnt try them until they were cold out of the fridge, HOLY SMOKE THESE THINGS ROCK!!!!

Hope everyones turkey day was as glorious as mine! CHEERS!!!!!(ESP TO MOMS)

Oh and buy an ossian ham of you ever get the chance. Itll be on me if you dont love it.

Im with ya man, not at all for the thin sliced spiral style. This was a bone in monster. The meat lady who checked us out even commented on how you cant find a better ham
OH IT WAS GOOD. If I could ship ya some left-overs I would.

BBQ RIBS, now thats a thing of beauty! Sounds like a great tradition.

Try marinating that bad boy with some brown sugar on that bad come xmas time. It doesnt suck.

I NEED a picture. Love smoking a ham. 6-10 hours depending on size. Hickory. Cut thru the rind on 1" centers, insert whole cloves at the intersections. Glaze with brown sugar, honey, ginger, ground cloves with a little bit of chili powder. Everybody always fights over the "ham candy" - the end of the shank thats been in the smoke and glaze. I have a 15 lber in the refridge ready for action. It always seems like they taste better when they've been smoked around the xmas holiday. I am going to have to check out ossian hams. I know there is a huge difference in quality and taste when you start getting into the hard cured hams - we just don't see them out here.
