hand forged from 16 oz(?) claw hammer (this is/was one of those old long-nosed hammer heads)
OAL - 20 1/2"
head length - 7 1/8"
(twisted) spike length - 3"
edge length - 2 3/4"
hardened and tempered edge
$150 includes heavy leather sheath and shipping SOLD
This one turned out nice. Everything about it makes you want to go out and chop something. Can be either a 'user' or a display piece. One would take comfort having this hawk by their side while camping/backpacking. I wouldn't recommend throwing it with the mahogany haft, but with a (less attractive IMHO) hickory haft it would make a nice thrower too, as it has a nice thick blade. This is a new, unused hawk ...although it was carried a few weekends ago as part of a costume at the Scottish Games in Woodland, CA ...where it received many compliments. (See this thread in the tomahawk forums ...it's the hawk on the left)
It currently sports a square butt on the haft, but I'll round it off if you would prefer that style.
Thanks for looking
