Here is a hard work'n polled hawk forged from a piece of high carbon hex bar. Now from my estimation and testing this hex bar is around 1060-1070 'ish :D It sparks like 1065 or better and gets harder than a woodpeckers lips in a 140* oil quench. We have to temper it back to a near purple because its still too hard at gold/straw for an axe. Its fairly high carbon stuff. The cutting edge is 2 7/8" wide. The head is 7" long overall. It has some forge texture left on the hex flats and somewhat of a brused finish as I figured this one would be used. Some simple filework on spine. Stamped under the poll. The haft is hickory 19", burned and stained. Has some leather wrap below the head with a couple of nickle studs on each side. Has a simple edge protector held together with brass rivets. Price is****SOLD*** plus $11 shipping priority with conformation. Paypal address is phllpwest@bellsouth.net Thanks...

That's a beauty Phillip. I may have to order one of these in the future. Don't have the funds right now.

Looks great bud,I bet that was some hard forgin steel:thumbup::thumbup:Regards Butch

Yea, you could say that Butch :D We had to stop and dress the slitter halfway thru the socket. Even at a high red/low orange its was hard as heck. Its some tough stuff for sure.
