A sale fell through and all of a sudden a kiridashi is available for general purchase. It is 4 1/2" long, a full 1/4" thick Aldo 1084, hammer texture on top and bottom. Single bevel edge with small secondary bevel on flat side. Comes with a primitive 'pocket sheath' attached to lanyard with whitetail deer antler bead. Fits in your pocket and you can remove the sheath yet have it remain with the blade via the lanyard.

$110 shipped. Paypal, check. Full refund after 1 week if still in 'as shipped' condition.

Nice job Scott, I carry a kiridashi in my pocket at work to cut cardboard and anything else in the way...........Randy

Yep.. I try to carry em Randy but then I sell em. People like em.. so much that this one is... SOLD!

I opened up the box on Saturday, I was impressed right away. I've been carrying it in my pocket since. Edge is awesome, shaves hair. Sheath is a perfect fit, and stiched well. Scott rounds the edges, so I can squeeze it hard, no pain in my palm.
I've been quite busy, so I've only cut a few small things. Raining today, I'll get it outside soon and play with some wood.

As far as knife laws are concerned, what category of knife is this?
It's in my pocket, is it a pocket knife?
It's 4.5" long, but what's the edge length, where does the handle start?
How would Law Enforcement or a Judge view this kiridashi?
I'm gonna carry it anyway, but was just curious about the legal perspective. I have folding pocket knives with more blade length. I guess this is a fixed blade, but...

FOXX – Just tell those who need to know, if it comes up, that you are a gentleman woodworker & this is your custom made pocket chisel. You never know when you might need to mortise a big fat hinge :D

That's good advice. I'm not too worried, I'm a law abiding citizen. Never been arrested, and wouldn't try to get past TSA or anything.
Yes, I work with wood, and have to be prepared.
