heat treat info please!

Proper thermal cycles after forging. Clay coated [Satanite]. 1450 degree w/ short soak & P50 quench.

I have some other stuff to finish before I get back to this, but will post more pics when I get back to it.

Did you have the blade in the oven on the heating to 1450? Or did you put it in a pre-heated oven?

BTW I love the look, which is why I am asking.

Stunning! What surface do you have it laying on that makes it look like the blade is warped? Kind of trippy...

Carl, the oven was up to temp before I put the blade in. However, the P50 was only about 65 degrees.

Matt, it's sitting on my bench stool w/ a round padded top. When I looked at the pics, I thought how warped it looked!

I must admit that "trippy" never came to mind!
