Hamon Check

Awesome. That looks great. Are you going to post more pics after polish? I hope so.

Parks 50? Water?

Ooo.. very nice! No pics of the clay application? I'd love to see the before and after.

...just looked a little closer... there's some really cool action going on near the tip.. way to go..

heat treat info please!

Proper thermal cycles after forging. Clay coated [Satanite]. 1450 degree w/ short soak & P50 quench.

I have some other stuff to finish before I get back to this, but will post more pics when I get back to it.

Thanks for lookin' & comments are welcome.

Stunning! What surface do you have it laying on that makes it look like the blade is warped? Kind of trippy...

Carl, the oven was up to temp before I put the blade in. However, the P50 was only about 65 degrees.

Matt, it's sitting on my bench stool w/ a round padded top. When I looked at the pics, I thought how warped it looked!

I must admit that "trippy" never came to mind!:D:D

Very nice I am looking forward to a pic of the finished knife. I never seem to get that sharp whispy transition line on my hamon lines...steve
