That's just all kinds of weird. (on Bos part allowing others to use his trademark)
ETA: The way I read the emails, the poster got them from "Fei" who dealt with Bos and sold the steel to the poster.
And I don't think he ever came out and said "hamon" or "differential heat treat." So while not coming out and saying the blade was etched/polished/blasted to look this way, it doesn't look like he actually misrepresented anything.
