Here are a couple of my latest Kwaikens!
These are made from 1095 steel with my extensive in house treat for edge stability, edge holding, strength and fine grain. I triple normalize the steel with reduction cycles to really bring out the best, clay coat then quench in Parks 50 oil which is especially engineered for water hardening steels like this premium 1095 from NJSB.
Shark Leather - underlay is natural shark leather that has been dyed black
Epoxy Soaked Tsuka Maki wrap - soaked in a special epoxy made especially for fabric... this epoxy soaks in deep and remains a bit flexible for an in hand feel that can not be paralleled.
These are both sold but I do have more coming up. They are made from 5/32" (.155") stock entirely by hand with tall slightly hollow double grinds. Most have a compound ground convexed tip and some have a blended convex tip... I showed one of each in the pics.
