Hand American order progress

I received my order today. Included were two healthy pieces of horse leather stopping material...4X8 ish.

I'll admit to over-reacting, in part due to the past history of these fella's, only learned after I placed the order and disconcerting to say the least. But the nightmare didn't materialize and not only did I receive what at first blush appears to be a knockout supply of stropping green but fresh leather to try it on.

For his own good I sincerely hope the delivery problems become a thing of the past.
 
Just received my email notification that my order is shipping today.. Keith guaranteed it would ship friday. I am O.K. with it.. I dont think it's right, but based upon what I have heard 1 week turn around I should be happy.. Let's hope the stuff is good and it makes a difference with my knives..
 
Well I was charged 11 bucks for priority shipping on 2 8 ounce bottles and was notified last Friday. I just checked the mail and still no package. The track and confirm has not been updated so I don't know if it actually shipped or if a label was just made.

I can ship a lot of stuff for $11. Even if that was the actual shipping charge a small company should offer a reasonable shipping option. Almost 35% of the bill is shipping and it could have easily been sent first class mail with delivery confirmation for about $3.75

I guess I am finally getting fed up with this. Paying a premium for shipping and then it not getting here because the package wasn't sent or whatever reason it is not here yet is upsetting. Before it was just time waiting for something to happen, but when I have to actually pay for it to take a long time that is irritating.

I guess if I have any luck with the diamond spray I better order more now so by the time I run out maybe I will have more.
 
Well my order finally came. According to the USPS website it was shipped on Monday.

I have heard good things about Keith and his products so I was never worried about him taking my money or the product not being good. The only problem is getting the man to remember about you and ship the order. If you are reading this by any chance, please work on getting organized. I'm sure if he got his product out in a timely fashion he would probably double or triple his sales.

When I talked to him last he said he was going to take care of me which he did. He upgraded both my 12 carat bottles of diamond spray to 18 carat. He included a large piece of felt (24"x 3 3/4") a large piece of leather (24"x 2 3/4") and a piece of leather (9" x 2 1/2") that is 2 pieces glued together one side smooth and the other with a small square pattern pressed in. I'm not sure what the different leather is for since it all has a different 'finish?' With all the extras I wonder if he actually made any money on me? It seems like he could have a pretty good little business if he worked on the shipping part but I guess he has his way of doing things.

Just wanted to let everyone know that he does come through eventually so just keep bugging him if your order seems to be taking a long time.
 
Got an email about the shipping notification on Saturday. Nothing sent or charged yet. Hopefully soon. Glad you got your order.
 
Got my order today.. It had the spray, some felt, some leather, and a SUPER COOL rod that is wrapped in leather. Keith knew I am a hunter and he wanted me to try this rod combo he is coming out with. It is 6" long and tightly wrapped in leather. I spoke with Keith and thanked him. The application for this rod/leather is to use in the field. It is one of those things that I looked at and said" why didn't I think of that"!! I explained he is getting tore up on BF and he needs to do a better job of shipping is products. He said he knows and he is shipping most stuff within 48 hours.. I told him 24 hours was the max any customer should really have to wait.. I do think he is an honorable guy and seems like he really wants to do well by everyone. I had to wait 11 days for my shipment to arrive and I am excited to get home tonight and break out the diamond spray. My shipment exceeded my expectations and he gave me a great tool to carry in the field.
 
So the leather wrapped rod is to strop on and is just an easy way to carry a piece of leather that is stiff and won't flex?

I am looking for something I can carry in my pocket to touch up on and that might be a good option. I have a DMT diasharp that folds up and is supposed to be fine but I haven't had any luck with it and it puts some heavy scratches in my normally mirror polished blade. It is far from fine.

I was never trying to knock Keith down, but when I hadn't heard anything I thought I would ask here. It ended up not sounding good for him but it is his own fault. I'm not trying to be mean when I say that and I'm sure he realizes that. I really hope he gets his shipping times down because I really think if people knew they were going to get their product quickly he could really increase his sales volume. Just the threads here show a bunch of people that have had to wait and got fed up and now go elsewhere. If word got out he was shipping quickly he could probably get most of those customers back. I will most likely order from him in the future as I am satisfied with the product. Not spending all that much time on one knife and it is the sharpest I have ever had so far.

Anyways, sorry to hijack this thread. I would pull mine up but don't see the need for two of the same threads floating around.
 
I will try and get a picture loaded for you to see what he sent me.. It is a stiff piece of leather that wraps nicely around this 6" rod. Keith's thinking was to spray the leather with the diamond spray and it supposedly penetrates the leather and it is neater and cleaner than the green compound. This is a nice compact package that could easily fit in your pocket, backpack, hunting jacket.. I think it is a very nice set up and it weighs 2 ounces.. He was thinking about making them 9" and I suggestd going down in size vs. up. For me 6 inches is great, but if it was 3-4 inches I could see it being handy to carry when you know you might need it. I will get a picture up tonight of what it looks like..
 
Ok here is the Leather wrapped Ceramic field rod that Keith sent with my Diamond spray. He also included a piece of leather and felt..

I would say he delivered more than I ordered and I will happily be ordering from him again..

For me this rod and leather piece soaked with diamond spray should be perfect when I am in the mountains, woods, or a weekend camping.

Ordered a 4oz bottle of .05 micron diamond spray last Friday at it arrived yesterday with a nice piece of stropping leather. My buddy owns a wood shop and he's gonna fix me up with a nice piece of hard wood for it. Good service. Good product too.
 
Got my order. Didn't expect or get any extras. I did however expect some sort of communication and got nothing. I doubt I'll be ordering again...

You said you got an email. If it was a shipping notification didn't it have a delivery confirmation number? It sounds like you did get some communication. It sounds like the shipping times are getting better to me. So far I am having great luck with the diamond spray and he has by far the best prices on great products. I will be ordering when I need something down the road, I just know I need to give him a call if I haven't heard anything. Not the best way but I can deal with it.

Edit: I also didn't remember your first post. Well you got it in a month. You got it almost 3 times faster than me so you should be impressed :D:D

I'm a little confused. You said in an earlier post you (1/27) that you had received a shipping notification. Less than a week later you post you got your order. Sounds like good service to me. What more in the form of communication would you expect? Was there a big delay from the time you placed the order until you received the shipping notification?

Well, I ordered on March 1 and besides the order verification I have heard nothing. I sent an e-mail. I will jeep the forum posted.

I sell custom strops and I always ship the next day latest. How hard is it to fulfill orders?
