Anybody familiar with a company called Hand American? According to their website, they sell a variety of sharpening supplies, e.g., leather, sandpaper, liquid, paste, and solid abrasives.

I've tried emailing these folks and have left telephone messages as their voicemails system requests....all to no avail.

I recently placed an order via their web site, very quick response and confirmation by return e-mail and fast shipment.

They have a long term good reputation with BF members.

Regards,
FK

I emailed them several times and got no response. I called and talked a guy there that said he would reply to the emails I sent him. That was a month ago and got no response. Too bad. I would have make it worth their time on the order I wanted to put together with them but I wanted to make sure I was getting the things I needed to make a "scary sharp" system. I'll try again some day...maybe.

MauiBlue,

In my voice mail, I said I wanted to place an order with them but had a few questions to ask first. Even knowing there was business to be had, it was not enough, apparently, to warrant a returned call. It would seem they do not need my business.

Yes, I would be apprehensive in ordering from vendors if they cannot/will not return calls or reply to emails. The majority of vendors I deal with will answer emails within 24 hours. I rather do business online if all possible. I would want a secondary line of communications via landline and if that also fails, I would be wary in dealing with them.
