Hand cuffs

Are the Peerless 801 (hinged) similarly superior to other models, or do hinge cuff users prefer another model?

The best cuffs Peerless made were the model 300's. The 400's were good, but way too thick. The 500's were good, also.

The 700's have exposed rivets. I had a pair where the pivot rivet seperated. Sent them to Peerless for repair, and received them back in a silmilar condition with the rivet too far seperated. This caused the single strand to bounce off the edge of the cheek plate. I've seen this on several pairs of 700's, so I won't use them.

S&W are good cuffs, I like the P models that have the double lock on the rear of the cuff.

I'm currently testing out two pairs of the new ASP cuffs. So far, they've been great.

A bit of personal choice, i guess, but the 300's tend to be smoother and more consistent between pairs. The 500's are nice, but I'm not crazy about the brushed finish on the plated ones.

For the fun.....Try some rope on for size....no FD needed if you cant loosen the knots, just pull out one of your trusty knives and AWAY YOU GO!!!

I recommend 3/8" to 1/4" braided nylon rope, avilable by the foot from most Home Depots. Don't get the prebagged stuff, as it generally uses loose fibers for fill.

For a basic wrist tie, have the victim hold her hands about four to six inches apart, and wrap the rope around both of them. Now add cinching loops by wrapping that middle section in alternating directions. Finish with a square knot or a sheet bend. It may take a bit of experimenting to get it tight enough that she can't slip out easily, while still loose enough not to cut off circulation. You _may_ have to start over from scratch. Be patient. Make sure you can fit two fingers under the ropes.

Knives are great, but you won't have much room for "follow through", so use a serrated edge, or a plainedge sharpened coarsely. Alternately, use paramedic scissors. But whatever you do, have an emergency cutting tool on hand. Knots _do_ jam.

If you're ready for some more advanced techniques, you can start with Rainbowrope's rope bondage tutorials. (The tutorials contain some _minor_ nudity--don't follow the link if you don't want to ;) )

Just keep it safe, sane, and consensual :D
