Hand-cut stencil material and etching Ti?

I just ordered a plain Sebenza, and I've been thinking about using my etcher to put some sort of texture/design on the handle scales. I was wondering if I can cut my own designs into a material and etch them onto the scales, and what would work best? Also, are there any issues with using the etcher to put the design on, such as un-intentional anodizing?

I think it could be done but you should practise on something else until you have the technique down. The Sebenza is pretty nice as is. Personally I wouldnt change a thing especially if you dont know how. Send it to a professional engraver.

I was thinking that Bruce, but sending it off takes all the fun out of it Aside from the ones that come strait from CR, I've seen some of the people that 'pimp' them do some incredible things.

I'm definitely planning on practicing a bit first, though I don't have any Ti around, but I'll at least make sure the design/stencil media work ok.

I tried to etch Titanium once I beleive awhile back. It did not turn out so well, did not go to depth like when I etch steel.
