Hand-cut stencil material and etching Ti?

I just ordered a plain Sebenza, and I've been thinking about using my etcher to put some sort of texture/design on the handle scales. I was wondering if I can cut my own designs into a material and etch them onto the scales, and what would work best? Also, are there any issues with using the etcher to put the design on, such as un-intentional anodizing?

Thanks for the help!

I think it could be done but you should practise on something else until you have the technique down. The Sebenza is pretty nice as is. Personally I wouldnt change a thing especially if you dont know how. Send it to a professional engraver.

I was thinking that Bruce, but sending it off takes all the fun out of it:D Aside from the ones that come strait from CR, I've seen some of the people that 'pimp' them do some incredible things.

I'm definitely planning on practicing a bit first, though;) I don't have any Ti around, but I'll at least make sure the design/stencil media work ok.

I tried to etch Titanium once I beleive awhile back. It did not turn out so well, did not go to depth like when I etch steel.
