Hand Drill (!), Spoon, and Hike

Awesome pics man, I wish I would have caught the moonrise yesterday but I was just out having fun with the family and going to dinner and didn't even realize it was a full moon. That is a nice shot of the moon through the briers,

Those are cool shots with the Mullein, good job on the coal. I was hoping to get to try that this year but there were no Mullein stalks to harvest. I'm liking the Yucca but even though there is a good bit of it here now thanks to so many using it for landscaping it really isn't indigenous to this area, there is usually Mullein all over the tops and sides of the mountain but there wasn't any this year for some odd reason.

If you have some Jerusalem Artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus) in your area, they make dynamite hand drills. I tried to check the range map at USDA, but it seems like their site is down for the moment.

Bull Thistle (Cirsium vulgare) also works very well.
