Hello everyone my name is michael hughes and im a knife maker out of manchester Connecticut. I am relatively new on bladeforum however have done a ton of sales through instagram and am very active within that knife community. I have for sale a hand forged came knife made from an old nicholson file which are 1095 steel. The guard is genuine wrought iron reclaimed from am old barn hinge, it has ben shaped like a coffin to pay homage to the bowie knives made in the early to mid 1800's. The handle is made from lignum vitae which has been finished with a durable CA glue finish and pinned with a mild steel rod which was domed on both sides amd finished with a ball peem texture. The handle is very ergonomic with a slight palm swell and a butt whicj keeps the hand from sliding off. The knife has been extensively tested by chopping 2x4's 1 inch thick free hanging natural fiber rope, cutting shaving out of a 1/4 thick mild steel rod, and cutting through 3/8 inch manilla rope on one section of the edge until it would no longer cleanly slice computer paper which took a total of close to 2 hours of cutting and 592 cuts to dull the edge enough for the paper to bind. Videos of all these tests can be viewed ony instagram page @_mike_hughes for verification as well as photos of the build process.

The knife clmes with:
1- Standard black or tan kydex sheath (your choice of color made to order)
2- The knife (obviously! Lol)
3- A hand made leather strop for portable use in a pack
4- Large microfiber cleaning cloth
5- My business card (to give to a friend or so you can buy more blades!)
6- The Date of birth card with relevant info and my signature with a full warrantee against maker defects

Now for some photos! I can send a ton more through email if you like includeing videos and even a personal test if you like! Or you can view a bunch of photos and videos of this blade on instagram @_mike_hughes

Looks Great... A very tempting item...! Some very nice work and the on the others in your website/gallery..! Is this still available? is the price set as per site.?

The price is set at the site for 450 which comes with a hand crafted 8oz leather sheath of the customers color choice, Including the extras described above. For 375 it comes with a black or tan kydex sheath and the items described above.
The dimensions are
14.5 inches overall
8.5 inch cutting edge
9 3/4 from guard to tip
4.5 inch lugnum vitae handle
11/8 inch wide handle at the thickest point
3/4 inch at the thinest (adds great contour but still strong as a rock)
I apologize for not posting the price! I thought i did but apparently not!
Also if the customer likes i could do a 600 grit hand rubbed finish for 25$ more. Thanks for the kind words guys!

Also i have my own logo which i add to ever single item I make and sell. I do this as the vest last step once the knive is completely done and my "stamp of approval" because this knife doesnt have its sheath i consider it not finished thus it cant get its logo atached is my logo on a previous knive I forged.

Both these other knives are sold but serve as an example for my logo

I went ahead and made a leather sheath for this knife. 8 oz veg tanned leather with gun metal grey rivets and hand stitched artificial wax coated animal sinew thread. The belt loop matches the shape of the guard in its curved coffin shape and the rivets closely match in color to the pin on the handle. The edges of the sheath have been dyed black to give a sharp contrast which matches the brown and black tone of the lignum vitae handle to wrought iron guard transition.

Price is now 425 because i made the sheath without a specific customer picking the color. The sheath is snug and retains the knife well while maming it still easy to remove. Thanks for your time.
