5160 hunter

I posted pictures of this blade as it was forged on my Instagram feed. A great customer of mine saw it and claimed it, so I built it for him. A cross draw sheath with heavy cant was his preference so that's what he gets. Now it's off to it's new home.

Specs:
Blade Steel: Hand forged 5160, finished to 1200X
Blade Length: 5&5/8" tip to guard, 5&1/8" edge
Blade thickness: 11/64ths
Guard: 416SS with black G10 and copper spacers.
Handle: Stabilized, Hawaiian Koa with copper pin.
OAL: 10&5/8"

A peek at what's really in the handle:

Looks good, Marc. I dig the "harpoon" profile of these types of blades. My only criticism is the dark ring around the pin. You either burnt it or gapped it. Very clean sheath, btw.

Rick,

It's not burned so it must be gapped. I avoided the sander specifically to avoid burning it. All shaping was done with files and sandpaper.

looks great, even the 4 screws line up horizontally,
sheath curves look great.

that is a glorious package there!

I love forging 5160. It moves really nice under the hammer and makes a great blade. Nice one here.

Marc, That's a beautiful knife. I love the spacers and also think your sheath is great looking. Fine work. Please make some more knives and share them. Larry
