Hand Forged Integral Utility Knife

Up for your consideration is a fine utility knife. I forged this integral from W1 tool steel. It has been hand forged, normalized 3 times, heat treated and tempered to 59-60 Rockwell. It features a 6" full-flat ground blade with a convex secondary edge. The rolled and blended spine measures 3/16" at the at the ricasso and features a full distal taper both from the bolster to the tip. The full tang is also distal tapered and is cloaked with red canvas micarta scales secured with hand-peened stainless steel pins. Weighing in at a solid 8.6 ounces, this a a serious tool. This blade balances perfectly at the integral bolster on the tip of your finger resulting in a very satisfying and nimble feeling in your hand. Perfect for the heaviest of kitchen or utility tasks.
