For over a year now I've been thinking about doing a DVD on just hand forging blades the way I do it. Thought I had a fellow lined up several months ago to do video work but he seems to be to busy. Anyway do you fellows think something like this would be of any interest?

Im sure that it would be a great help to those who want to know about forging.

I'd be extremely interested in purchasing such a video. I know there are a lot out there, I just haven't had the time to spend searching out and watching what I want. I really enjoy your hawks and love your blade shapes in your knives, and I would order a video from you.

We spoke about this at Blade Show, and YES. I'm a little interested...

I am interested as well.
And I hope your second DVD would show how you forge a Hawk.

If you make one that also includes tommy forging I will buy one. Just make sure it is not region coded so us Aussies can watch it :) ...

Hi Ray,
Jam pack it with the ins and outs of forging to shape, and I'm in.

Take care, Craig

I'd buy it.

I have watched several bladesmithing videos, but most only show a little hand forge work. It would be great to see a dvd done exclusively hand forging.

Of course seeing one of the sweet blades you make come to life will add even more allure to it.

Edited to add:

Perhaps a second video finishing the knife complete with the 'aging' process would be a great companion. I'd buy that one too.

I would buy one immediately. But I would also be as or more interested in one on your axes and hawks.

John

I'd love see this done and would definitely purchase a copy. Actually, I'd purchase two copies. I have a friend in Ohio that I'm trying to steer towards the forged blade.

P.S.
If you need any help with this, such as moving stuff around, or grunt work off camera, just shout out to me. I don't want any recognition at all. I'm just willing to give you a hand in any way that I can.

a dvd sounds awesome. to a person interested in forging (me) reading and pictures can only explain so much. I personally learn much better and faster from watching.

Ray,

Who you going to get to play your part?? Someone that knows how to forge I hope!!:D:D:D Does sound like fun though. Need to go for it.

Chuck

Ray, the cost would be worth every penny (and more) To see and here the theory and techniques a master such as yourself uses to create some of the beautiful blades I've seen come out of your shop over the past few years would be a great idea !! Go for it ;)
