Only other thing that jumps out at me (but isn't what you were asking about Brian) is the bevel on your sanding stick. IMHO, it's waaaaaaay too steep. The reason for having that "chisel grind" bevel on sanding sticks/bars is to help wrap the paper tight, get into tighter spots, AND to help see where you're sanding. I think you'll find it a lot easier to see exactly where you're at with your sanding if you grind the bevel back--- a lot.
