I have been searching for a while now and can not find a previous thread which mentioned a specific brand of sandpaper for hand sanding blades. There were a couple fellas recommended a brand which outlasted others 2 or 3 to 1.
Can anyone recommend a good type of paper? I would like to hand sand to 600 or 800 finish. Thank you.

I use 3M Emperial Wet or Dry. The kind they sell at automotive supplies for doing body work. I haven't found anything better and easier to get.

Rhynowet comes highly recommended from several top makers. I've also heard good things about Norton's Black Ice.

I've had very good luck with Klingspor paper from Pop. No complaints about 3M stuff either, but I like the way Klingspor cuts.

Norton Black Ice. I switched from Klingspor to Norton and noticed a big difference not so much in how long it lasts. but how quickly and smoothly it cuts. Black Ice 280 grit had basically replaced everyone else's 220 grit in my shop.

Thanks a lot guys. I think it may have been the Rhynowet I read about before but access to Norton and 3M seems more likely. Thanks again. Very grateful.

You can find Black Ice on the web, but I must warn you that you will experience some sticker shock!!!!

Micron belts split down the middle starting with 65 micron and work my way up to 30 or 15 mic. I use the norton blue for final finish and pulling my lines.
