For the sake of your SHBM I'd say that would be prudent.....unless it want's to be scared satin :D:p
 
I know most SHBM's go for $1000.00+ these days, Just wondering what a used one goes for, like the one in the last pic..
 
I'd say a used one would go for around $700 to $850....If someone's got a user, they usually don't want to part with it though....it's a valued user for most people. Those who wanted to get rid of them already have. You either have to have something or more likely someTHINGS that are very good trade fodder or pay out your ears for them. I did pretty well on just about all of mine...I paid out my ears for 2 of them though...sort of....
 
I think user Straight Handled Battles Mistresses for sale are more rare than Safe Queens.

I think the value might be some what higher.

Sort of depends, I certainly just paid a lot more than that for a user one of 300, nearly double in fact, well one of Six maybe, but being a user did not matter to me, infact I tend to like user Busse knives, Means I can use it to see if I want to keep it for that.

They're DEFINITELY more rare....I haven't seen half as many users as I've seen safe queens :eek:

For some reason users are more sought after....not even for the reason they're cheaper...I've gotten better offers for the SHBM in this post than I have for any other knives! Kinda funny!

I DO like users though....it's wierd....but it's harder to take a new knife and start using it than taking a user and going to town...even if you paid pretty much the same thing...it's popping the cherry for the first time, then it's all down hill from there :p

You don't need a SHBM unless of course you plan to move to the "Hood". ;)

I think your values are right on the money for a user. I just recently sold my slotted bolt user for $750 and a month earlier another user went for about $800. A user is a user is a user. :thumbup:

Now if you have a 1 of 300 user you are looking at a bit more maybe closer to $1100 maybe even 1200.

But like you said Users are the hardest to get because no one wants to let them go.

In the end they are only worth what smeone is willing to pay.

I'd easily spend $1200 on a 1/300....even a beater! :D I've been unsuccessful in finding another....I really want one to use....I can't just use the one I have...A backup is necessary :p
