I was wondering if many custom knife makers take your hand size into consideration. Do they ask you what glove size you wear or if generally speaking you have small or large hands. Just seems like it would help the maker give the end user a true custom knife.

I have had quite a few of the full custom makers ask what size gloves I wear. Other custom makers already have their standard knife models and what you get is what you get. If it is a full custom, your own design, they usually ask.

JW Bensinger asks for one or two measurements and his work fits like a glove. Actually better since most gloves on the market are too small for me. :-D

I prefer a closed-grip length of 4.4" - 4.8" or so. I want a grip width of about 0.460"-0.490".
Generally, that's a large Sebenza (4.8").

Dalibor (Daado on here) made a knife to.my exact measurements.
Hand width (across knuckles), grip width (side to side looking down over the spine), choil spaced for pointer and middle finger measured down to the mm (being from Europe and all).

I can't speak highly enough about him! Fantastic guy with great communication and willing to make what the customer wants to see brought to reality.

That's very cool man sounds like you got a knife truly tailored to you. It makes sense to me for a knife maker to do that but I bet not many go that far!
