Hello,

I'm new to the forum and this is my first post... my uncle is an avid knife collector and I'm looking to purchase a folding knife for his birthday coming up in a few weeks. It's a limited run Spyderco and the only retailer that I could find with it in stock is hand-tools.com. I did a search and found 2 reviews posted in early 2012 and it wasn't the greatest but that was all I could find... I'm hoping for for more recent experiences - good or bad - to help me decide whether I should even do business with this retailer. I would appreciate any experiences anyone can share with hand-tools.com...

Thanks

I've only ordered from them once and, despite their claims otherwise, they do seem to be a drop shipper. I also seem to remember that the owner attempted to put someone's job in jeopardy for leaving a negative review (threatened to forward their emails which had been sent from work IIRC) which left me with some negative feelings about the site

Thanks for all the info... seems I'd be better off staying away from this retailer. Even though they indicate they have the knife I'm looking for in-stock, it probably isn't really in-stock.

You pays your money and you takes your chance

I paid for a knife they said was in stock, It was not in stock, owner told me he was sorry and would get my money refunded immediately, which he did not(email correspondence). It took some doing to get in touch with them on the phone, direct number is a voicemail stating they will callback, which they did not. I finally got a girl on the phone and told her she needs to refund my money while I wait, which she did. I would not do business with them again.
