Handgun Holsters

I usually make sheaths and holsters that offer full coverage, like those below. The holster was made for my MK II .22LR and the sheath for my BRKT Aurora.

I've recently bought a Ruger Single Six that I've just started the pattern for a holster with a flap.

Great looking holster! I'm a huge fan of flap holsters for the field. I carry a Smith model 17 22lr on camping trips and I would rather have my revolver well protected then be able to draw it quickly. I also use a Blackhawk flap holster on my Springfield XD.

I like the looks of the sturdy and functional, good job. Big spaces can be a challenge to tooling design, I’ll use western floral most of the time though the Sheridan style intrigues me.

Still one of my fave nessmuks you have pictured there Danny. Nobody makes them with that blade shape anymore and it's a shame because the point is a good feature:thumbup:

Looked at the simply rugged website looks like good stuff. I prefer a crossdraw holster. what about ammo carry how do you guys take care of that. I guess I need to be more specific how do the revolver guys carry ammo?

You can use the simply rugged pancake on the opposite side as well. It has extra slots to work as a cross draw. Might be more comfortable driving or hunting. At times, I will carry loose ammo in a small brain tanned pouch.

Nice stuff Dannyboy Leather, I've used alot of the stuff you've mentioned, paticularly the sheen, neatsfoot oil and Lexol. I use their dye too.

Maybe it's time to come up with a survival holster :)
