Handheld Power Tools for Knife Makers

Cutting crisp clean plunge cuts is a holy grail. Maybe a hand powered tool designed to work with a carbide file guide to set plunge lines that can then be smoothed out with the belt after removing the file guide.
I could defiantly look into things like that, maybe it could be set up like an air file with better considerations for ergonomics and extended use.

How about a high quality variable speed 1 x30 belt grinder that can work vertical and horizontal?

You probably could use a trim router with a speed control for the motor.

having a small 1x30 horizontal and vertical variable speed grinder of high quality would be very nice for folder makers. You could have a glass platen on it and use small wheel attachments for contact wheels.

I like that idea a lot, maybe it could be a modular setup that can be configured to the application.

You could make an attachment for an angle grinder that enables you to grind at a set angle, so you could grind bevels and the like...

No , at least small one most of us use ... with cutting disk of 4-5 inch dia .Maybe more slim design around head where cutting disk are fixed .. ..
I could defiantly look into that, maybe streamlining the whole tool if possible.

A long stroke low spm sanding tool. Think recip saw with a sanding attachment where you can control sanding pressure with your hand.

Yes - I would totally buy a hand held variable speed oscillating spindle sander! That would make finishing and contouring complex handle shapes SO much easier!!

Most hate hand sanding. If someone made a relatively inexpensive hand sanding machine ( bench so that doesn't fit your hand tool criteria ) folks would be interested.
