Handle comfort.

I think what makes the Copperlocks so nimble is the fact that they are slim. A guy I work with has the amber bone. Its really a nice bone.

I started my collection buying all of the case bros. knives with the chestnut bone handles. They did not make every pattern in this series ,but it covers most of them. I have thought about selling or trading several times. I hold on to that set because each time someone speaks of the way a knife sits in your hand or speaks of the feel of a particular pattern, It is nice to actually pick up that pattern and see what they mean. This thread has caused me to do this three times so far. although some of the patterns are not my favorite, I have one as a reference.

I still have a few in the chestnut bone series. If memory serves, these were mostly in, if not all in CV?.. Yes?

Yeah but...

BBQ shows up better on Yeller Handles. I win! *grin*
Has to do with "seeing" the "character" better on a handle...

Not to mention finding the durn knife amongst the BBQ and fixin's (still gotta be careful around mustard 'tater salad) and these Yeller handles clean up right nice in the wash, easy to sort from the Jeans, or Southern Napkins as we call 'em...

*snicker*

Being a Southern Boy, I fully understand about having to walk to school, uphill both ways, in the snow in the South.
It ain't as easy as some make it out to be... *grin*

Re: Chestnut Bone.

Back in the day, when I still drank, we had this here BBQ.
Now Southern Tradition states: The party ain't over until the keg floats.

Best guess my Chestnut Bone decided to take a swim in the wash-tub, with the ice for the keg.

My role was making darn sure the comfy chair and back porch did not run off...I was being a Southern Gentleman and "attending this here spot", to see if the keg was a float - yet- so I could not have done it.

We never did figure out how the Hen & Rooster pen knife "actually" ended up in a bottle of Tequila.
I still say the Hen & Rooster went after the worm in the bottle...

My Victorinox Pioneer is real comfy in my hand. Of course, I've had it near 25 years so maybe my hand molded itself to the knife. ;)

Likewise, my Schrade Bearpaw feels really good.

In more modern knives, my Becker BK7 and Benchmade 550 Griptilian feel really good.
