I've owned and seen bright s/s screws, bead blasted s/s screws, and brass tube/rivets. Does anyone have time frames on their use? Thanks, Rand

The flared tubes mark the lastest style of handle fastening...they are also the strongest, increasing shear resistance to the slabs three times over the bolts.

The blasted and ground bolts came first, and the stainless screw head you are referring to is simply a different size bolt where the Busse shop did not have to invest as much time in shaping and grinding a bolt head...hence that flathead appearance on many knives just before the flared tubes came out. The bolts have been used for many years...the tubes however, are now on every knife design in the Combat line, and will be subject to revisions by stronger ideas and materials, as Busse Combat does with everything they do.
