An Ang Khola will have a tapered or "rat tail" tang running full length of the solid, one piece handle and peened at the buttcap. H.I. makes their "rat Tail" tangs beefier than most, you will never have a problem with them under narmal useage. A CAK or Chiruwa Ang Khola will have a full tang that is the full width and shape of the handle. The handle is split into two halves and secured by steel pins. There have been replacements of both style handles by professionals and forum members alike. It is not an easy job.I'm planning to buy my first HI in probably 18" Ang Khola...can't wait! Have any of you replaced the handle? If so, is the blade a full or tapered tang? Thank you for your help.
