I tried to put a piece of brass between fossilized bamboo and when i started shaping the handle the brass piece is loose. How do i fix it. Can i just try to re epoxy the brass piece?

imho the bamboo is aligned the wrong way.
But to save that handle if it is already attached, I'd try to epoxy it in place and finnish.
Clean well, rough it up with samdpaper, do the same with the wood, take slow cure epoxy and let it set in a warm room

Get some Bob Smiths CA "INSTA-CURE" and "Insta Set"

Fill the gaps with the CA glue compress carefully and hit it with insta set.

It will dry fast and rock hard.

Be careful that glue runs quikcer then water

any hobby shop should have it.

What do u mean the bambo is aligned wrong

The grain of the wood should be running lengthwise.
Apparently, you got the brass hot when shaping the handle. Heat will destroy a glue joint.
You can even get metal too hot filing it by hand.

You glued the brass back in already? When fixing this problem, I stick the metal back in and let the thin CA wick right in with everything fit together. It works really good this way and you might be less likely to glue your fingers to the handle. :)

When I glue up handle scales, I keep a paper towel soaked with isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) nearby. I use that to clean up the epoxy that I get everywhere as well as gently wipe the front of the scales and blade. I also use a little cotton swab/q-tip for the same thing, another tip I saw was a toothpick wrapped with paper towel to do the same. You don't want alcohol to wick in-between everything and mess up your glue joint. I have a brass rod that I shaped the front into a scraper to scrape dried up epoxy off the blade, but that's not a problem for me any more LOL.
