Lets do a poll. What handle material do you think would work best with this knife? The blade is Matt Walker damascus so will end up being very dark with very clear markings. I have not decided on a bolster but will probably go with more of the Walker damascus , therefore also dark. The knife is just over 7 1/2 " long open and 4" closed. Let me know you choices for handle and why.
Thanks
Steve

Steve I think a knarly (not smooth but textured) pc. of dark black and blue mammoth ivory with some light highlights would do this knife proud. I got a beautiful pc. from Don Hanson at the blade show for a knife that I am going to do for myself (now theres an original idea). Paul

I'll say mother of pearl too but I'll vote for white.

I've always liked how white pearl looks with dark damascus.

I'd think plain dark mammoth would look good. Premium natural material that wouldn't clash with a showy pattern welded blade. Might work decent for a gents folder. The right stag or mop scales would look good too. I don't care for boldly patterned scales that don't compliment boldly pattered steel. Nice classic lines on your folder.

Take care, Craig

Okay, I give up, What does sperm Whale tooth look like.
Steve

Steve these are sperm whale teeth but i think Pauls idea would look awseome.
Regardless of what you choose i'm sure it will be a beautifull knife!

I voted for stag. The handle shape reminds me of the old Remington bullet knives, and stag or jigged bone just seems to fit.
