Handle Material ...Your Favorite

For folders best is G-10, for fixed, Micarta then G-10. Both are the best scale material available, impervious to about anything. The only reason I prefer Micarta over G-10 is that Micarta usually costs less. FRN is not bad for folders. Utility over pretty.

Arctice Curley Birch. Look beautiful, feels warm, and grips well.

I love titanium, as well as G-10, blue & silver twill G-10 are some of my favorites!!

I love wood handles, but mostly on fixed blades. Can't find enough folders I like with wood handles...

For folders, my favourite is probably Aluminum. Strong, light, and tough. Most un-textured aluminum handles are also really gentle on my pockets, unlike most G10 handles. On the flip side, if I want loads of grip, there are several aluminum handled knives that put G10 to shame in terms of 'grippy-ness', like the Blur and the Presidio. It's quite a versatile material.

I also think anodized aluminum looks pretty cool once it's covered in battle-scars

It really depends on the knife and what I'll be using it for. My two all time favorites for everday folders would be G-10 and titanium, however I love carbon fiber and micarta too. I'd like to see more quality production folders using micarta. For fixed blades I like canvas micarta best for my heavy users and for my traditional style bowies I like polished stacked leather, stag (as straight as possible), and wood (some of my favorites are desert ironwood, cocobolo, snake wood...)

I prefer wood as a handle material, it just feels right and I find that it ages well. I like juniper, ebony, rosewood, maple, olive, cocobolo, birch,....actually I think it would be easier to say wich ones I don't like:o. That's the beauty of wood handles, there are just so many to choose from.
