Handle material

Well I ended up falling in love with the Rough Black handle...apparently it's modeled after the "gum fuddy" knives from WW2. I really liked how grippy it was in my hand. I will definitely be picking up multiple stockmans (stockmen?) in the future and I can't wait to try out the various handles! Thanks for all your input [emoji3]

"Persons who choose to identify themselves as stock." StockMAN is so genderist. :D

So just two days after buying my first traditional (Case Sodbuster Jr.) I am headed out to pick up a stockman. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight on what handle material works best for a work/camp knife?

And if you can convince me of a different setup than the stockman I am all ears [emoji3]

...to be fair I will most likely end up buying multiple traditionals anyway....

My standard knife when I go camping is a Buck 301.
►Stockman
►Robust stainless blades
►Very good heat treat on the 420HC. It holds an edge quite well
►Built like a Sherman Tank.
►I like the black Valox handled models. They are likewise indestructible.

My buck 301 is my go to knife for dirty and/or wet environments. Doesn't jam up with grit nearly as easily as my other knIves as it lacks liners.

My go to knife for work however is a GEC 72 jack in jiget bone. The jigging gives good grip and the bone doesn't absorb and build up with oil and grease like wood seems so. Just don't drop it too often. It has held up well in my machine shop.

I have been loving my Case medium stockman with punch in place of the spey. Seems to me that the punch is more usefull as a third blade, starting screws, scribing lines whatever. I think there are pretty limited finish options. here's the one I have. Blades are cv except the punch and that may be the only configuration available.

The Case Medium Stockman with Punch is available in Amber Bone as pictured, as well as yellow Delrin. Both are CV blades with SS punch.

Here's my Case/Carhartt in black g10. Of the 8 or so Cases I own, this is my favorite.

I have some micarta handled Buck knives and that handle material is damn near indestructible.
