So Ive been stalking FB blades for some time. Seen newer stuff, what I guess is older stuff and all of it damn sweet.
My questing is, are there a fixed number of combinations for colors/materials that are always in use? If so what combos would we possibly see?

For example I saw Thurins killer kephart in all black with what looks like a lime green liner, amazing look. Is this combo still used?

Since it seems a bit like roulette, meaning the knife you are after with the color/material combo your afters showing up I want to make sure I am not waiting for a combo that no longer exists.

For example I personally love the blackouts (what appear to be all black) or all black with white liner, emerald green and black, black with a antique white, curly maple with black pins and green liner, ruby and its combos, many of the woods and wood combos. Bolster versions of these too.

I'm not sure any combos are blacklisted. When Andy gets tired of a combo he will let it be known that it's to be outta the rotation for awhile....

Black or Natural pins/spacers/bullseyes .. the liner colors and handle material is random-ish from their selection(s) on hand.

Hey Dman3d,

Nothing's ever 100% set in stone, but one thing you'll see is that there are basically two sets of liner, pin and bullseye lanyards colors in use, Black and Natural. All three will typically match on a knife (the pins, liner and bullseye will all be black for example). Beyond that, the liner and main handle material are a roulette wheel.

It's cool as it ends up being some pretty unique combos like you've mentioned.

There are also some named combos like Tuxedo for example, which is black micarta with natural pins, liner, bullseye and a white liner.

Example

A month or so ago... He saw a combo glued up on the table and promptly disassembled them via hammer
Lol

The Pink liners are not used very often .. lol

Very cool thanks!

maroon and crimson micarta will have natural liners with white pinstripe, blue pinstripes are used only with natural liners..... there are more, but my mind is wore out at the moment, lol

I always loved the combo called "Kennebunkport Khaki Config". It's cornflower blue over white/blue/white. It was on Kephart with natural pins and bullseye. I'd love to have it if someone gets tired of it.

The inner liners are typically black or natural. This is because of the limited pin and bullseye filler tubing I have found available. I like the pins and bullseye to match the inner liner. We do now have some 1/8" crimson canvas, so we did one with crimson liners and bolsters recently. I wish I could find pins to match that. I love the crimson canvas. Its my favorite handle material we use. Micarta is the absolute best suited material for handle material that I know of. (This was also the opinion of the great Mr. Bob Loveless.)

Here are a few combo's that I don't like and have black listed.

Orange spacers with maroon handle material.
Blue spacers with black liners. (simply because the blue kinda disapears)

I really like the handles with green spacers and green scales. (over natural canvas is my favorite), and also white spacers with just about anything. We are moving so fast around here, everyone in charge of a different part of the process, that it is kinda random. My hope is that you enjoy the hunt!

That's the one that suffered the trauma

So if you have one of those, it might be safe to consider it rare.

And you're right, the blue does disappear against the black, especially if the scale is black too. But I would still love it if you made a few more like this.

I've seen a Black on Black with Blue pinstripe Kephart that's the sister of mine with the green pinstripe and thought it was a sweet looking combo.

If the owner of that Kephart is tired of it, I would love for it to join the black-blue-black family with my Hunter.

btw, the black-green-black combo is stunning but my daughter would try to snag any of them from me. She loves anything green.

that was I don't like - these brown dots over it ( no offending)
I love crimson and maroon but I don't like with brown over it. I keep looking for the pins that match the color ( like black on black) but still did not see it:(

did you tried dark red with maroon?
black with this light green is very good, black with orange spacers should be good

what spacer is good for electric orange ?
red? green?

The two examples of Electric Orange that I have both have black liners and pins. One has a white pinstripe, the other has an orange pinstripe.

I'm not currently able to grab a good comparison shot, but maybe you can see it in this one:
