Yup, the fusion handle does feel nice. However I love the way the res-c handles feel. The res-c handles seem to absorb the impact of a chop better than the linen micarta.

man, I forgot about resiprine handles, otherwise I would have put them as a 4th option, but busses don't come with snce the Basic line. But I agree that for straight out chopping user they are hard to beat.

If I just grip the knives, the ergos seem to fit my hand the best, but when I actually use them, I do not use a tight grip, so the ergos don't feel as good for me. The fussions give me a nice compromise between the SH and the ergos. For fine work however, the Ergos are hard to beat.

I like the ergos A LOT! I wish i could handle some of the "custom" shaped ergos that I've seen pics of...

There's a SH-e variant for sale/trade right now on the exchange that looks awesome, wonder what it feels like???

The only SH I've got is a safe queen.

user wise for me would be

Ergo
Fusion

I love the EDC handle on the Meaner / Leaner, perfect match of blade and handle.

only one way to find out for sure.....

1 - Straight Handle
1 - Fusion Mags
1 - Ergo

Like them all. Just don't have an E-handled knife yet.

I was hoping that Jerry and Garth would help me with that problem during the upcoming BloodBathAganzaaa.

Bring forth the Blade customs!!!!!

My vote of course was for the Straight Handles. The SHBM is my favorite knife next to the Eu-Mag. I DO like the Ergo's, but I like them best on the NO-e. A very useful knife. Fine work is cake with that sucker while it can hang with chopping at the same time!

I am not surprised by the fact that the Fussions are tied with the straight Handles. Says a lot for the fussions.

I really like the Fusion handles :D I started out liking the Mags, but after getting my first SHBM I found that I like the thinner standard slabs more because of the added control. The mags are more comfortable, but I value control more. :( Now I regret selling my Tan/Snakeskin FBM. If I don't trade it for a SHSH or SHBM, I'm going to send my LE in to get some green linen slabs :D STANDARD. That would be sweet! I like my FFFBM in that configuration! I like the FFFBM even more than the LE for some reason. I really like the saber grind!

I voted for straight handles because I really like the way the fit in the hand... Only ever tried a BBSHSH, SHSHII and a SHBA... all fatties. I do like the Fusion handle too... actually it's most of what I own. They each have their advantages...

Way to general a question, I have worked with Straight large knives that hurt my hand and pinched my little finger badly.

I have also worked with large straight knives that after 20 minutes of medium to hard Chopping Still felt like they were making love to my hand and even offered a clean towel to wipe up the sweat with.

The ergo's are much the same, maybe never quite so gentle on the hand, but easier on the arm/wrist.

No mention of the Basics here, seems people either love them or hate them, all according to how they like the handles.

Slotted Screw Badger Attack, best overall Handle.

But that does not address the question.

Busse knives are different enough one to the next in the Same Model of knife that it all seems to depend on how people like a particular knife

All true, it seems that the one line that hate/love design were the E-handles. I have had BM-E's that I love and I have had BM-E's that felt like crap. Just a little variation makes a huge difference in the feel. I have not had that same feel with the Straight handles and defnitely not with the fussions, which are probably the most consistent of the bunch.

I thought about including the Res-C handles but snce they are not offered any more in INFI(not even in extraveganza's) it is really a moot point.

If you have only handled one SH or on E-handle or one Fussion it may be tough to decide as you have had the worst one of that line or the best of that line. But overall, I think that the numbers are starting to look like what I figured which is that the SH's and the Fussions are more consistent and thus you either hate them or love them. There are more handle types than this but not for strictly large knives. Even the original Birds Beaks were different than the other straight handles.

Ok, I know this is a dumb question since I started the poll, but why is it that only paying members can vote?? I did not intend that?

Fusion
Straight
Ergo

I like the straight, but have large hands and do get some pinky bite at times. That doesn't happen with any of the fusion handles. Also, the fusion handle depends on the size. I don't like mags on thick blades. In fact, I'm probably going to send in my FBM-LE and see about some standard scales at some point.

Guyon if you have pinky finger with the SHBM, then you should get rid of it as it does not work for you. I am sure I have sme fussion smething for you somewhere:thumbup:

It only happens when I really chop away at something, and it is a non-issue with gloves. My day pack always has gloves.

Thank you for your caring though. I was touched. :D
