This is purely an aesthetical concern, but I was wondering if the quilted micarta on the new E models is going to have any kind of visual "texture" other than the diamond? Looking at pictures of older INFI SH models that I've seen pics of, there was an almost marbelized looking pattern to the micarta. On some of the newer models, it almost looked like fiddleback maple (maybe that's what it's called, I'm not sure, but it's the handle material on some of the newer Marble's.) I'm sure the new E model handles will feel better during use, but I do like the aesthetics of the older models. Thanks for the read! -Matt

Matt,

On solid colored micarta, the Diamond Quilting process does bring out some nice tone which the pictures on my site don't really reveal well.

However, on multicolor micarta, the Diamond Quilting process POPS the contrasting layers loudly.
