Howdy all.
1000 posts snuck up on me today, and I do believe that, in keeping with Blade Forums tradition, it's time for me to offer my own giveaway.
Here's the deal. I'll be custom making a set of handle scales for the winner. I have a 2 and an 11, but not a 14. So unless you send me the 14, I can't do scales for it. I'm told scales for the 2 will fit any other Becker, so I can do most of them. I'll be doing at least some texturing to the handle, but you get a good amount of say. I will be doing a WIP thread/walkthrough as well. More on details later.
First, the contest.
1. I'd like you to write a Becker-related poem or funny saying, about your favorite Becker, complete with picture of said Becker, cause Becker porn is always nice. Bonus points for making me laff, or otherwise having something mind-blowingly awesome. It could be a haiku, or you can go all epic poem if you so desire. But you won't get bonus points for length. Also, bonus points if the picture involves a good-looking female holding said Becker.
2. You must state why you want handle scales, and what knife you want them for. Bonus points for someone who actually NEEDS 'em.
3. You must be a Beckerhead (state your BH # please), and you must live in the US or Canada or somewhere it won't cost me an arm and a leg to ship to you. Bonus points for being someone super helpful to the Beckerhead community.
Everyone that meets the above 3 criteria will get at least 1 entry. Basically, you'll get one entry for entering, and 1 for each bonus point you get for your various shenanigans, as listed above. I determine value of said shenanigans. I'll do a random drawing of the entries at the end of the contest, which will run until 12/16/11.
Okay, back to the nitty gritty.
I've got black canvas micarta and cocobolo, both of which would be reasonably suitable for the larger Beckers. If I REALLY like you, and you want scales for a small knife, I MIGHT be willing to use some of my black/green G10 on your prize. It's thinner than the other stuff, so it's not suitable for a BK2 or something. You choose.
I can do takedown (stock Becker screws or stainless hardware like the stuff I used for Captain Airyica's handles). If you want it permanent, I MIGHT be willing to use some of my mosaic pins on you. You're gonna need to send me the knife, obviously, for that.
