Anyone removed their slabs and wrapped with cord or ???

Would enjoy seeing pics.

I could understand wrapping the handles, but I don't know why you would want to remove perfectly good scales and replace them with paracord.

I know some wrap their BK11/14 knife handles, but those are smaller knives and the scales have to be purchased separately.

Ya, I've got an 11 that I wrapped with paracord and it is pretty great. But I can't see taking the totally awesome handles off of one of my full sized Beckers and putting paracord on instead.

Why would you want to do this? Serious question not being snarky.

My 14's handle is cord wrapped but I don't think I'll do that to my other BKs.
Paracord will not provide the same ergonomics as the stock scales IMHO.

Nope, that is like putting a lowering kit and spinners on a Jeep.

I have cord wrapped a necker or two until I got scales for them.

Agree with most others here. I'd wrap a 14 or a necker, but keep those perfectly comfortable handle scales on my other Beckers.

I'd do it as a change of pace just to see how I like it. Its an interesting idea. My bk 2 could give about 4 layers of paracord a run for its money. :D

Just so that everyone knows, I am not a fan of paracord wrap on knives of any size that are actually used. I am a fan of Ethan's handle slabs just as they are provided.

I instigated this conversation from my observation of knives that are of similar size and design compared with those of the BK line that come from makers cord wrapped. While looking cool, I doubt that many of these knives see much actual use afield - certainly far less than what the average Beckerhead does with their knives!

I'm not mentioning any brand names but there are some knives that come with paracord wrap, knives that cost significantly more than any BK&T knife that rarely see actual use - as evidenced by the NIB or Mint examples that seem to pop up for sale regularly. Sure, there may be some advantages to paracord; did I mention it looks cool and one can change the look of the knife easily with different colors or wrap methods but I do not find paracord wrapped handles that comfortable for hard use and, while paracord can be changes when infused with blood, fat. dirt and the like that is inevitable in the field, isn't it just easier to simply wash real handle slabs when washing the knife.

Part of the great design of Beckers are those scales. Even the pink ones feel great! :p

I never considered a cord wrap on the full size Beckers. The scales are just....supposed to be there!:D

I parawrapped my wife's BK11, as a joke, but quickly switched to the micarta.

I've got some of that awesome cord that Ethan loves so much and was considering throwing that on my extra 24.
