Handle type favorite?

Machined Micarta for a user, smooth G-10 for a safe queen. Micarta is better than G-10 for users IMO except when it's Blaze Orange. I really like the Orange G-10 on knives I use for field dressing. They don't get lost.

Snakeskin is my favorite standard and my favorite custom is on my mammoth tooth July 4th ASH1 with blue/black G10 bolsters

That is just beautiful Mark,

where did that come from, a ganzaa or did you get it at a show or have it custom made?

My favourite are the Fusion Magnum Green Linen's sanded and smoothed for a perfect fit....

I like the looks of the pumpkin G-10 and the feel of canvas Micarta for a user. For a one-off? Wood burl is rather nice!

Micarta, preferably tan. And no surprise, for my lady hands I like the ergo handles. They just fit me better! :)

How do you like the ergo versus the fusion style? I have never held an ergo so I'd be interested in knowing the pro's and con's of both.

I find the ergo smaller and better shaped for my grip. I used an FBM and didn't feel as secure as I do with the BM-E. Again, perhaps a function of overall size. I covet a FSH to try it out (maybe this year) as I have settled on the SH-E as my current favorite user for all purposes. I handled a FSH and I liked it, but it may be more a matter of blade length and weight than handle ergonomics--and I haven't had the pleasure of beating on one yet.

Ergo and EU Handles ...snakeskin and Raptor scales are very comfortable. The most comfortable handle I own would be on one of my ST Rippers.

Happy Healthy New Year all you wonderful HOG'S!

Jules

You've got more than one!!! YOU HOG

I second Jules opinion, so far the E-handles, Euro and ZT line do it for me. I haven't handled a lot of the newer blades though. The NMSFNO looks to be very comfortable and usable.

I prefer Micarta over G-10. My favorite is machined Snakeskin Nucarta.

And for handle design, I'm sticking with the E-handles.

The Tigerhide Micarta on the NMFBM LE would be the all time favorite for me.

Resiprene-C.

I've spent some of the better hours of my life swingin' the old Busse Basic 9 clearing brush. For sessions long enough to get your hand to fatigue state, I've found the slight tackiness of the Res-C gripping your hand in return really helps.

Too bad the Basics were discontinued and Res-C was let go to the Dogs. :D
Res-C is the most comfortable for use. I also like the shape of the Basic handles, which I feel contributes to the comfort.

For looks canvas and linen micarta is nice. Some of the custom wood handles are absolutely beautiful!

Does anyone have a picture of the Raptor Scale pattern or is there a certain knife it was on that I could look up on 'The Busse Collector' site?

Well, G-10 Blk/Tan smooth or machine 1st. Then Blk G-10, and then Blk Micarta. Have found G-10 easier to work with up here in the Winter & Micarta in the Summer IMHO.

the raptor pattern is on most of the ergo line, if I'm not mistaken. I think you can also find it on some Euro and ZT knives. You can find good examples on BusseCollector, HogCult, or google "badmojo tv, Busse."
