Handle wrapping ?????

I have made some chisel ground tantos similar to RJ Martin's has any of you makers ever made a braided knot to cover the top of your wrapping just bellow the shoulder? I don't even know where to begin .

Hi Steve'
It's called a Turks-head knot. This knot and many others can be found in any book on knots at any bookstore. Look for them in the sailing section.

Thanks Bob26 I feel pretty stupid I was in the Navy for three years but I can't tie a knot (I was a pit snipe that should explain everything)
