Handled the Slysz Bowie last week..

It is a truly beautiful and exceptionally well crafted knife...truly a gem, but the handle felt cramped to my hands and I found that my pinky was uncomfortable to the point where I question whether I'd carry it regularly.

Not in my case....I carry a large Sebbie or Zaan often, as the small Seb is too small for my hand. But I really have plenty of room for my pinky with the Bowie, as you can see in the pic. I realize that this "Rigger" probably has very large hands...
Here is my new Slysz Bowie with my AVO, large Sebbie and Zaan.

...and here it is in my hand...very comfortable for me...and I wear Large gloves.

I'm glad that it works for you...I really wanted it to work for me and I was anticipating it more than almost any knife to date...I nearly ordered one before even holding it because I liked the design so much. I find the sibling Techno to be almost perfect in basically every aspect ergonomically to my hands. I did only handle a Slysz Bowie for about 10 minutes though, but it did feel cramped to me. I'll be giving it another shot in my local store and hopefully it feels better than the first time...I've changed my mind before about certain knife ergos, but it just didn't feel like I thought it would after looking at it. I don't have exceptionally large hands palm wise, but I do have quite long fingers. Large gloves fit me the best but as far as finger length to palm size ratio, I definitely have a hard time finding gloves that fit properly. I also do err on the side of smaller gloves to have tighter fitting fingers because it can make one less likely to drop a small part when several hundred feet up a tower. I might have XL sized hands compared to "Normal" construction workers but wear L gloves due to what I handle while wearing gloves...hard to say though since all gloves fit differently based on brand and model etc. I've had XL gloves fit too small, and L gloves fit too large.

I also handled a Slysz Bowie a few weeks ago. It had the usual flawless Taiwan fit and finish, but somehow it did not impress me as much as I thought it would. Nothing wrong with the knife, just one of those intangible feelings that something was not quite right for me. It seemed a bit small at the time, but now that I see the comparison pics with the CRK's above I am uncertain why I got that impression. I remember I felt a bit underwhelmed the first time I handled a Sebenza too. Maybe it's just too perfect for me, maybe it's the lack of a choil, or maybe the heavy price tag put me off, something equivalent to $500 at my local shop. Will check it out again one day if I have the opportunity.

Woah! $500 would put me off too, and I LOVE my Slysz Bowie. But that was full MSRP and the reality is you can get them for $300. Next time you hold one think "I'm not paying more than $300", maybe that will help. :p

Those prices may change for his location.

:) Didn't see the location...you may be right.

Although, I think he can get it mail-order and not pay too much in shipping..but then again, I've never mail-ordered anything to South Africa...so I don't really know.

I know this, I would not feel the same about that knife if I had to pay $500. I paid less than $500 total for my Slysz Bowie and my Slysz Techno combined.

You are right I would have to import, as it works out cheaper. But still, a $300 knife costs me about $400 to get in my hands. Most of my collection I imported based on pics and reviews on the internet. It's a real luxury to be able to handle a knife before buying. Most of our local shops only sell the budget line of Spydercos (Endura, Delica etc, maybe a Para2 and Military if you are lucky), so it was a treat to find a shop with a few Taiwan spydies to fondle and drool over!

The cost is Pretty much the same here in Canada, with our dollar running at .82 cents. I gave up waiting for our $ to rise and paid $369.00
Received it today, and its exactly what I've been looking for! I have small and large Sebenza's and a couple Sage II's, the Slysz Bowie, for me is the perfect mid size knife.
