Hey fellas... and Mrs. Skunk.

So what is everyone doing for the handles on their PBFs? I was staring at mine and looking online at materials, canvas micarta, linen micarta, wood, bone, etc... still unsure what will make the best looking PBF and be tough as nails at the same time...

mtn,

who are you going to have put your handles on for you? I'd like to know, so I can get some.

I also heard that mr. skunk used to wrap handles alot, maybe he can do us a public service, out of the goodness of his heart!

:D :D

I put a semi-decent looking Strider wrap on mine. It's not Strider quality, but it's OK. I'd like to have a professional do it Japanese style, black over black. Who can I go to for this?

I wish I could post pics, but I don't have that capacity. :( Maybe soon, though.

here some pics of what I'm going with.I did these with what paracord I had left around the house, happened to be black and olive drab. I'm going to order 5 or 6 different colors of paracord like black, red, white, yellow and tan and have fun changing the colors and re-wrapping them periodically. The Strider wrap is quick and easy and gives a very nice feel to the grip. The integral D-Guard is a bonus I just fell into cause the Strider directions said to use a 12' length and that left me with all this extra so I just played around until I found a decent way to make it work. I'm happy with how it turned out. Feels great. And you know how I love them D-guards!!! :D

Those look great; you did a better job than I did. I'm going to have to practice a bit. ;)

Bravado, thanks for the info on Bandit knives. :)

where's the best place to buy some linen micarta? i think i'm going to fit some smooth desert tan to mine after i put a satin finish one it.

very nice utah! I think that's the way I'm going to go as well......

they have the pics on how to wrap on the strider site as well....

Hey Wilco and all... I plan on doing the handles myself and have put wood handles on knife blanks before... I am just trying to decide what will look best. I am also trying to price out some custom made titanium handles, which I can't find a good source for.

I may do wood or bone... and of course when I do will get pics put up.

oh, and for stinky... I have heard these guys are good for micarta of various types: www.texasknife.com

They seem to have paper, linen, and canvas micarta options... along with plenty of wood and bone... I was going to place an order with them once I made up my mind!
