Is that 5th photo down an Element?
Looks like one but the downward swept handle is throwing me off.

I think this is much better for my handle page, all I need is a picture of teak.

Looks good.

This isn't teak but it is another great marine wood - GREENHEART. Nice tight grain, non oily, extremely rot resistant and exceptionally durable. Used for, among other things, building shipways. An excellent knife handle choice. Finishes closely to the color of teak.

I can send John a few more pieces if someone want a knife handle like this one.

don't remember what's on the HBXL, but the JK-O has Ipe scales and the big Bushcrafter is natural micarta

Greenheart was also a popular alternative to split cane (Bamboo) in high grade fly rods in the pre-fiberglass days. Been trying to talk a friend out of his Orvis greenheart rod but he is being rather exclusive with it $$$$$$$!

A bit late, but here's walnut, osage orange, and tiger maple . .

So I live where we have plenty of California Buckeye trees and most have burls. I just cannot get used to the wood. It is a persona thing. Looks dirty. Then I see these scales and over pay for them because they are straw yellows and black and grey and fiddleback....and buckeye.

If I had it to do all over again these would be on my JK knife not the burl redwood...maybe I need another JK???
