handling difference between a 18"/ 20" Sirupati?

IMO yes theres a huge difference I have a 18" sir and a 20"sir both by kumar
the 18" is light and quick with a hint of "chop" the 20" is all chop hard to recover the swing
for a good fighter 18" sir is a good quick yet able hacker , any longer and you'll want a thinner blade

I asked Pappy about this a lot. It was important, too, in that he was always using a khuk to lop the head off a snake on his property. He had a hard time telling me which way to go. First, there's a lot of individual variances with any two khuks, so a real light 20" may be faster than a heavy 18" In general though, the 18" is going to be quick, and the 20" a little slower. The late Pappy wanted the extra two inches when he was dealing with poisonious snakes.

I have both a 18" and a 20" one, and my 20" feels much more blade heavy and less agile, since it is definitely heavier too.
Measured from the bolster, the blades alone are 13-14" and 15-16". Handles alone are 5" and 5 1/2-6" approximately.
My 20" one is a solid, 27 oz. by Sher, so this might explain it.
I received it last week. It was the horn handled one Yangdu posted for sale recently as a blem.
I am very pleased with it: it has long, comfortable handle and very nice contour.

And I agree completely with Munk: the lenghth alone is not sufficient factor to assess agility.

If it helps, my 18" Siru is 21.8 oz., 18.25 OA.
The 21.5" Chainpuri at 23.8 oz is much more lively. Though larger & heaver, it seems lighter. Not sure why. Blade angle?
All these khuks vary, sometimes a lot, and it matters. A light or heavy one in its class that works even better is a treat to discover.
