Handmade imperfection

I have what I consider a reasonable expectation of quality of manufacturing based the price point. Most of the knives that I own probably have imperfections that I would notice if someone more knowledgeable than me would point them out to me. Only a few have things that I have actually noticed: edge of liner not completely covered by the bone handles, a shield sitting a little proud, a spring not totally flush when the knife is open, some with more noticeable gaps in between the spring and liners than others, some with more blade rub than others. I just chalk it up to the variability of the production process.

I suppose I'm not sophisticated enough to know junk when I see it. :)

Sounds like there's gotta be a balance between imperfect with some perfect touches.
