What more can they do? I think the 'freedom fighters, insurgents, terrorists' (depending upon which network you watch) have already been doing about as much as they can do to start such a war ... blowing up civis in markets, at weddings, in schools; kidnapping and beheadings, shooting attacks, etc. I don't get the impression they've been holding back 'til now.

I am generaly opposed to the death penalty domesticaly (usualy becuase far too many people have been found innocent after the fact), it serves vengance much more then it serves justice. But in this case I will be willing to make an acception.
