Would something like the Shop Fox W1830 Hanging Air Filter be good to collect the fine metal dust in a garage after grinding? I do all my composite handle grinding outside. Just worried about the fine metal dust that likes to settle the next day . It says its good to 1 micron.

The only thing I have any experience with that hangs from the ceiling and cleans the air, was the smoke eater at the local pub, and coming from a non smoker that thing kicked ass ;0)

I haven't seen this particular brand in action, but others I've seen seem to work decently. I would think getting the appropriate size for your workspace is important. Most of them are low profile, which is a plus unless you have high ceilings.
The poor man's way of solving this problems is to get a box fan and tape (or build a frame for the fan and filter) the 20 X 20 furnace filter of your choice to it. I now have a wall exhaust fan, but I used to use 2 in conjunction with dust collection and it worked great. Ceiling clearance was my only complaint.
